Shenlong is the dragon god of both the tempest and the rain in Chinese mythology. This drawing started with lots of ink splatter and slowly trying to carve out the image from the inky mess. In the beginning, I wasn't too sure if I could salvage the drawing from all the ink splatter. After using many washes of both white and black ink, the image was decent at best. The piece came together when used a white pen to outline the dragon. Before the defining white lines, it was too dark and tough tough see what's going on (still kind of hectic). In the end, I was happily surprised with the results. Check out the attached video.
